Approved Uses: Applicants for the Prize are not allowed to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to write their papers, including identifying the references.
Prove Mastery: In the paper, applicants for the Prize that have used AI must describe how they have used AI. (For example, for idea development.) Finalists for the Prize may be asked to present an oral defense of their paper.
Plagiarism Review: The faculty advisor who supports the student’s application for the Prize must certify that they have read the paper and do not detect AI use.
When AI is Detected: When use of AI is suspected, Prize managers must personally investigate the issue before a decision is made to award the Prize.
